UPDATE: ALLIANCE Hockey Vaccination Policy
Hello Rotary Hockey Families!

Alliance Hockey recently release an updated vaccination policy. There is not much from this update that impacts our programming, but we wanted to make everyone aware of the memo.

There are three big take-aways from this update highlighted below:

  1. Those turning 12 in 2022 will have 12 weeks to get vaccinated. The earliest that would apply is the end of March so this will not affect Rotary Hockey for this season.
  1. We strongly encourage children 5 to 11 years old who are now eligible for a vaccine to get vaccinated as soon as possible, but it will not be required to play hockey this season.
  1. With the easing of travel restrictions, some families may be travelling out of the country for Christmas or March Break. However – particularly for children aged 5 to 11 who are unvaccinated there are potential implications. Under the currently rules from the Federal Government, a child who is not fully vaccinated and travels outside Canada must isolate for 14 days and is not allowed to go to school, attend camps or daycare or sporting events. As a further reminder, if they can’t go to school, then they can’t come to hockey.

We are continuing to see an increase in COVID activity in this region and we urge all our participants to be vigilant with the existing COVID protocols. Wear your mask, sanitize regularly and where possible maintain physical distancing. We continue to stay in touch with our governing body (Hockey Canada) and the Huron Perth Health Unit to keep all our participants safe and are following their guidelines. If we are directed to make changes then we will notify you as soon as possible. Please also check our website and our Facebook page for any developing news regarding Rotary Hockey.

Lastly, we wanted to remind everyone that after this weekend, starting on December 20th Rotary Hockey activities are suspended for the Christmas Break. We will resume our regular programming on Monday January 3rd.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Please stay safe!
