Stratford Rotary Hockey to Become Members of ALLIANCE Hockey, the Ontario Hockey Federation & Hockey Canada
STRATFORD, ON: - STRATFORD ROTARY HOCKEY and ALLIANCE HOCKEY are very pleased to announce that as of the 2017-2018 minor hockey season, the Stratford Rotary Hockey League (SRHL) will officially become members of ALLIANCE Hockey, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) and Hockey Canada.

The Stratford Rotary Hockey League has provided quality leadership and hockey programming to Stratford and area participants since 1946.  The SRHL accommodates male and female players aged 4-20 in House League categories ranging from Tyke through to Juvenile.  The Stratford Rotary Hockey League will maintain their autonomy throughout the transition and continue to operate their programs as usual.  ALLIANCE Hockey will provide full support and program enhancements to ensure that the minor hockey experience for all participants is still one of FUN and excitement.

“It is an exciting and positive transition for the Stratford Rotary Hockey League,” stated Murray Patterson, President and Ice Scheduler of the SRHL. “We are pleased to continue to offer our participants excellent programming while taking advantage of all that ALLIANCE Hockey and Hockey Canada membership has to offer.”

“We are looking forward to welcoming the Stratford Rotary Hockey League and working with them to support the development of their programs and participants,” said Dan Gibbons, President of ALLIANCE Hockey. “We have developed a great working relationship and we are thrilled to have them become full members of ALLIANCE Hockey and in-turn, the OHF and Hockey Canada.”

About Stratford Rotary Hockey League:
The Stratford Rotary Hockey League is a volunteer-based minor hockey league in Stratford, ON.  The SRHL provides House League hockey for over 900 male and female participants in categories of Tyke through Juvenile.  The primary rule in the 4-13 age groups is equal playing time regardless of ability. In the Tyke through minor peewee age groups, a buzzer indicates a shift change to ensure equal ice time.  In major peewee and up, teams shift on the fly but coaches must also divide the ice time as equally as possible. Younger age groups play with fewer whistles and face offs to give players a chance to be more active and simply enjoy the game. www.stratfordrotaryhockey.com
